2026 Rose Wine, Barossa Valley

Mataro 59%, Grenache 35%, Cinsault 6%

Stockwell sites all within walking distance of one another on sandy soils. Grenache farmed organically, Cinsault and Mataro (R2V7) farmed using natural sequent farming practices. Average vine age: 30 years. 5 sites carefully selected via trial and error.   

Method: Mataro picked riper to deliver structure, floral dried herbs and complexity. Leaner picked Grenache for the nose, acid and tension without the typical confectionery Grenache palate. Cinsault for mouth feel and weight.

All parcels hand picked and processed separately. Post destemming, immediately pressed and cold settled overnight. Part barrel fermented, part tank, all wild yeast fermented and 100% malolactic fermentation. Post settling, all components racked and gravity fed back into barrel and tank. 6 months maturation time and cold stabled.

Parcels treated separately with their approach tailored and temperature controlled during fermentation. Grenache sites generally picked below 11 baume to focus acid, accentuate the nose and reduce the “strawberries and cream”. Bottled with minimal sulphur, unfined and unfiltered.

Florally white, Guava, Nashi Pears, Passion Fruit pith, Watermelon with dried provincial herbs. Structure and texture.
